4 months


We sat down to take 4-month pictures of Piper, and about 2.5 seconds after we got this cute outfit on she spit up all over it...


...Thus making the executive decision that these pictures would need to be in the buff.

Each day she is doing more and more. She loves rolling over and check out this neck strength!


Her next goal is to figure out why that baby hand keeps stealing her pacifier and how to get it back... We'll let you know when she finds the culprit. Until then, hide your valuables.

VDay at the Dubyas


Valentine's Day 2012


Jered surprised me for Valentine's Day and cooked me a full dinner for about the 3rd time in our marriage. Don't get me wrong, I'm not complaining. I love to cook and he does a ridiculous amount of dishes. But this was a treat. He even opened a bottle of some of our favorite wine we picked up in Napa Valley a couple of years ago on a trip to visit our cousins. (We're usually really bad about hoarding things like this for a "special occasion" that never happens... so I was very proud of him for opening one of them!)



Who says you can't be romantic once you have children? ...Granted, we only have one child and she's not yet mobile...

Sweet girl couldn't quite keep up with her parents. One of these days those roles will switch, but I'm glad that right now those days seem forever away.

T+One Trimester(ish)




Our fans (all three of them... including our moms) have been getting on to us for not updating this blog since we began it. So okay, okay, here it is. It has been almost 3 months (12 weeks to be exact) since our lives were blessed when baby Piper entered the world.

At 8 lbs, 21 inches, and not an ounce of fat on her (despite how hard I tried), she was easy to love from the moment we first saw her. And it has only been made easier by the fact that she now sleeps around 9 to 11 hours straight through the night -- an admission I fear making: a) because I don't want to jinx it, and b) because I get the stink eye from at least one person every time I utter it out loud.

We are so fortunate to have so many friends and family that love spending time with her, and we are getting LOTS of use out of all the outfits (hello 5 changes a day from mess after mess) and toys from many wonderful benefactors.

With a promise that we will be updating this more often, here are a few snapshots from her first three months:

T- One Trimester


Howdy! I would officially like to introduce you to our blog. This is where you may come enjoy the insightful ramblings of the progression of parenthood for the Wilkersons. The intelligence will come from the beautiful synapses of the female portion of this team, but the humorous and nonsensical ramblings will be brought to you by this guy...

I will post more about this later, but this blog starts the next chapter of the Wilkerson family saga. The portion of the story that will affect forever after. The portion of the story that will bring tears of joy and sadness, laughter and anger, confusion and direction, you get the point. This part of the story is the one that adds the first edition of the Wilkerson kids. Ladies and gentlemen, meet...
