You Only Live Once
And as part of my one lifetime, I somehow convinced my mom to pack up with the three of us and drive 1400 miles round trip for a weekend in New Orleans to see one of my oldest and dearest friends get married. We were a little nervous for a trip that long with an 11-month old who recently started walking and desires to use that new skill every moment of the day. But she did great and required fewer breaks than we thought she would! We had a blast...
We ran into Spike Lee (not pictured) and a couple a folks from Duck Dynasty (definitely pictured),
We got all dressed up and spent time with some of our FAVORITE people,
And while we were in route we were able to spend good time with family!
On the way down we stopped for the night and enjoyed time with my oldest brother and his never-a-dull-moment family.
On the way back, we stopped and spent a couple of hours with cousins we definitely don't get see enough! Unfortunately, I was so focused on the logistics of making the entire drive in one day I forgot to take pictures of this family visit!! But fortunately for us, my cousin is a fabulous photographer (in the Baton Rouge area for those of you that are looking!) and snapped this beautiful pic of Piper.
Needless to say we were exhausted when we got in at 1:00-ish am and had to get up bright and early the next day (because babies don't believe in sleeping in..who knew?), but this adventure was definitely worth the wear and tear.
